COVER ART:
Entrada, detail. oil on canvas. 1995. By Lorrie Fink, lorriefink.com Lorrie says, “My work is inspired by organic forms found in nature; I explore connections between painting, nature, and the rhythm of life cycles. I paint with oils, occasionally en plein air, mostly working in my Oakland studio to interpret images I’ve recorded from the macroscopic landscape of the natural world. This detail comes from a painting completed in 1995. It was inspired by travels to Mexico and a chicken from Petaluma.” The photo above was taken by Paul Mason at the installation Above and Below the Surface: An Atlas exhibit at EBMUD Gallery in Nov/Dec 2008.
