Documentary Highlights Anti-Hunger Activism

They’re on a mission to end hunger: The Starfish Throwers, heroes of an award-winning documentary film, are three individuals who each find a way to feed thousands. A chef in India, a twelve-year-old gardener in South Carolina, and a retired schoolteacher in Minnesota reach out and make a significant difference for hungry people in their own communities. Presented by Alameda Backyard Growers, the free showing is offered at the Alameda Free Library. Watch a trailer here, or just come to Alameda on Sunday for the showing. Light refreshments served.
