Peachy Paradise

It’s a bit of a trek to Clovis, but this event may well be worth the effort. You’ll be joining the Ecological Farming Association for a sweet evening in a historic “natural farming” setting, tasting more than 60 varieties of peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots, and pluots from California organic growers. Enjoy fresh fruit pies, take a farm tour, and experience a Japanese tea ceremony at the Mokichi Okada Association’s Oasis Garden. A special feature will be a presentation by Bill Fujimoto, whose visionary leadership in the 1980s transformed Berkeley’s Monterey Market into a place that brought produce from small local growers directly to city consumers. Organic fruit is available for purchase, along with food from local vendors. Participating farmers include Abundant Harvest Organics, Blossom Bluff Orchards, D.E. Boldt Family FarmsMOA Oasis Garden, Naylor Organics, Sweet Home Ranch, Valliwide Organic Farms, Cardenas Farms, Juarez Farm, and Eldon Thiesen Farms. Adult admission $5, children under 12 free.
