The Bay Area Book Festival returns with nearly 300 prominent authors for adults and youth, appearing on indoor stages on Saturday and Sunday, May 6–7.

Exclusively on Sunday, May 7, the festival includes a large outdoor stage, literary exhibitors, gourmet food vendors, a lively family area, and a youth expo in Berkeley’s Civic Center Park.

A must-see for Foodies is “Tasting History: A Delicious Journey Through the Past,” featuring YouTube sensation Max Miller, who explores the past through 4,000 years of recipes, from ancient Rome to Ming China to medieval Europe and beyond.

Also not to miss is “Cooking the Books: A Celebration of Picture Books and Food” (Ages 4–10), a mouthwatering, supersized session that features cooking demos and great stories.

All events except the headliner programs on Saturday and Sunday night are now offered at no cost. Visit baybookfest.org for the full schedule and tickets.
