Our cover art this issue is by letterpress printer, illustrator, and graphic designer Elizabeth Hubbell. In 1998, Elizabeth founded Elizabeth Hubbell Studio in Berkeley to house a century-old, cast-iron printing press, the type of letterpress invented by Johannes Gutenberg in the mid-15th century. Using the press and custom-mixed inks, she transfers her paintings, illustrations, and block-cuts onto beautiful textured papers from around the world. Visit elizabethhubbellstudio.com to see the video tour of her studio and to view her blog of recent work and sources of inspiration.
