Best celebratory bubbly selection: Garré Sparkling White-Private Cuvée. This California sparkling is crisp with a touch of sweetness. The nose is rich with pear, green apple, honeysuckle, ground almond, and a hint of brioche. The mouth feel has well-rounded bubbles, with a long finish. It’s a perfect wine for any and every celebration.

Pre-feast quaff: 2011 Sangre de Iberia. The grapes in this blend of touriga and tempranillo were grown at the home vineyard of our winemaker Wayne Re here in Livermore. This light red wine is fruity and floral, with flavors of honey and peach. It has light tannins and acidity with a well-balanced finish.

Best wine for a typical turkey dinner: Our 2009 Primitivo. This Italian zinfandel has a dark purple ink-like color. Strong aromas of dark fruit jams, Holiday spices; clove, cinnamon, all spice with a hint of anise. Full bodied with a medium finish.

Best wine for a holiday fish feast: 2014 Chardonnay Reserve-Our estate-grown chardonnay is one of Garré’s best sellers. Aged six months in new American oak, this estate-grown chardonnay has apple and pear on the nose with a rich and balanced finish.

Best wine to go with a spicy dessert: Our Red Velvet Port has the aroma of French prunes and toasted walnuts on the nose. It is fruit forward with flavors of dried fruit and a hint of burnt sugar.

Wild card: 2011 Petite Sirah This variety, discovered in 1868 by Victor Pulliat, has found its home in the Livermore Valley. This wine is bursting with ripe cherry, blueberry, and dates with a hot stone minerality. Hints of vanilla and brown spice round it all out. Medium-plus finish and smooth velvety tannins.
