Eating Alone, an exhibition of food-centered street photography, explores the similarities and differences among people eating alone from San Francisco to Paris, New York to London. The subjects of these candid shots don’t know they’re being photographed as they enjoy a meal on a park bench or a quick snack while sitting on the sidewalk. For photographer and food writer Jeannette Ferrary, “the enticements of food and photography became forever entwined” as she learned to develop photos in her grandparents’ darkroom, which doubled as a food pantry. Ferrary’s photos are on view until March 15. Info: JeannetteFerrary.com and CityArtsofSanMateo.org.
