Visit Grabishfarm to celebrate and learn about International Heritage Breeds Day. According to the nonprofit Livestock Conservancy, modern animal agriculture has led to a tremendous loss of genetic diversity as many traditional livestock breeds have been replaced by “improved” breeds. Across the country, events like this open house are raising awareness about endangered heritage breeds of livestock and poultry. The farmers at Grabishfarm raise, own, and manage the breeding stock for the farm’s Mulefoot hogs, Oberhasli dairy goats, fainting goats, and Black Spanish turkeys. Meet the animals, see the farm, and ask questions. Info: here or 707.689.2960
