$20,000 on Offer for Small Family Farms

Mortgage-Lifter

Small U.S. family farms can apply for a $20,000 grant from Beekman 1802, which gives away 25{94d79dd6af1e87a94e700e4c297236468333f22e27ed5757b44711974a9a4b91} of profits from its Farm Pantry products. The business was cofounded by former city slickers Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge, stars of the reality TV show The Fabulous Beekman Boys as well as cookbook authors and farmers in upstate New York. Back in 2013, in need of funds to pay off their own mortgage, the duo created a line of pasta sauces using a tomato bred in the 1930s called the Mortgage Lifter Tomato. When their fortunes improved, Kilmer-Purcell and Ridge decided to pay forward up to 25{94d79dd6af1e87a94e700e4c297236468333f22e27ed5757b44711974a9a4b91} of their profits to help other small farms grow. Funds can be used for any business needs including mortgage payments. Applications accepted through July 18. Info and application: here
