Enjoy Tahoe through food and drink with two September events:
Up first is the 32nd anniversary of the Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival, a celebration of food, wine, spirits, and brews that also features hands-on cooking demos by celebrity chefs, a Farm-to-Tahoe dinner, winemaker luncheons and dinners, food and wine seminars, and Sunday’s Culinary Competition and Grand Tasting. The following weekend is when South Lake Tahoe’s tastemakers come together for a farm-to-fork festival that pairs regionally sourced foods with locally crafted wine, beer, and spirits. Chefs, restaurateurs, brewers, winemakers, and farmers offer 20 booths with plenty of samples. In the festival marketplace, visitors can find locally made jam, soap, honey, and olive oil as well as fine art, jewelry, and crafts. Round out the experience with farm tours, music, and a cooking challenge featuring three regional chefs. Cost: $20–$40.
