The Thrill of the Olive Crush

Enjoy the chance to taste olio nuovo and tour the mill at the Olive Crush Festival. Photo courtesy of Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation.
Come celebrate the start of the olive harvest with a visit to the Séka Hills Olive Mill. Watch the mill in action and taste olio nuovo (early-harvest, unfiltered extra-virgin olive oil) as well as treats from local food artisans and vendors. Owned and run by Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, the tasting room offers an insider’s view, showing how the Tribe’s olives are grown, milled, and turned into world-class olive oils. Tribal Executive Chef Casey Willard demos cooking with olio nuovo and talks about its seasonal uses. Free. Info: here or 530.796.2810
