Encourage Your Budding Chef
Sprouts Cooking Club invites young people ages 6–15 to boost their cooking skills in this series of live, interactive Zoom sessions with award-winning chefs.

SEASONAL FALL SWEETS: Sunday November 8, 10:30am–12:30pm
Get your hands dirty with pastry chef Avery Ruzicka, partner and head baker of Manresa Bread, in a baking spree of her favorite heartwarming fall treats.
CHICKEN DUMPLINGS & PEAR CRISP: Sunday November 15, 3:30–5:30pm
Acclaimed Chef Mark Liberman, owner of Oakland’s Mägo, shows you how to make mouthwatering chicken dumplings and pear crisp. Chef Mark brings years of expertise from SF’s La Folie and AQ restaurants.
GARDEN SALAD TACOS: Sunday November 29, 10:30am–12:30pm
Daughter of food royalty Alice Waters, Fanny Singer shows kids how cooking can be both healthy and delicious! Writer of Always Home: A Daughter’s Recipes and Stories, Fanny shows how to create fresh garden salad tacos, which will surely become a new family fave!
SAVORY & SWEET GALETTES: Sunday December 6, 10:30am–12:30pm
Savory? Sweet? Why not both! Stephanie Forsythe, former pastry chef at Oakland’s Pizzaiolo and NYC’s Print restaurants, will teach you how to make savory butternut squash galettes and sweet apple galettes as holiday treats!
Classes are paced for youth cooking without adult help, but family supervision is encouraged as needed. Thanks to funding from Just Date Syrup, the first class per family is only $5 and financial aid for the series is also available. For those who can pay full price, tuition funds sponsor the Chef Career Training program for youth in need of a fresh start.
