Slow Food East Bay invites enthusiasts dedicated to good, clean, and fair food to join the organization in one of various leadership positions. The group is a volunteer-run nonprofit and a chapter of the Slow Food USA organization. It strives to tailor Slow Food USA’s national principles to serve the cultural and racial diversity of the East Bay and its mixture of urban and rural residents. As the East Bay group expands its core leadership team, volunteers are needed for committees including Social Media, Equity Inclusion & Justice, Fundraising, Community Partnerships, and Events. In addition, people are needed to serve as liaisons to Slow Food’s regional, state, and national partners. The organization’s recent accomplishments include the Cultural Food Traditions Project, which highlighted the work and stories of immigrant chefs as well as farmers and food entrepreneurs of color.
