The California Artisan Cheese Festival is Back In-Person, May 7
California’s premier cheese festival, the California Artisan Cheese Festival, is returning on Saturday May 7, 2022, for a one-day in-person event!
Cheese-lovers from across the Bay Area will be able to sample products from over 60 award-winning cheesemakers, winemakers, breweries, and crafters of other local artisan goods at this 16th annual festival for the senses. This Artisan Cheese Tasting & Marketplace takes place 12–4pm at the vast Grace Pavilion and adjacent Shade Park at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds Event Center in Santa Rosa, California.
“We are incredibly fortunate to be celebrating our amazing local cheesemaking community with the return of the California Artisan Cheese Festival, which has become one of the country’s most anticipated annual events for cheese lovers and foodies,” says Anthea Stolz, executive director of the California Artisan Cheese Guild. “We can’t wait to showcase California cheesemakers and farmers who have had a tough go of it throughout the pandemic.”
Judy Groverman Walker, the festival’s event producer adds, “The Artisan Cheese Tasting and Marketplace offers a very special opportunity to taste, sip, savor, and purchase delectable cheeses and products that complement cheese, all in one place. We are excited to be back in-person this year featuring so many of the fan favorites plus over a dozen new purveyors.”
Many local cheesemakers will be in attendance including: Achadinha Cheese Company, Beehive Cheese Company, Cowgirl Creamery, Cypress Grove, Fiscalini Farmstead Cheese, Laura Chenel, Marin French Cheese Co., Morsey’s Creamery, Nicasio Valley Cheese Co., Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company, Sach Foods, Sierra Nevada Cheese Co., Valley Ford Cheese & Creamery, and Wm. Cofield Cheesemakers.
California Artisan Cheese Festival is a nonprofit organization with the mission to educate people about artisan cheese, support the artisan cheesemaking community and its sustainability, and celebrate and enjoy the creations of the artisan cheesemakers.
