Slow Food East Bay is the San Francisco’s Bay Area’s East Bay chapter of the global Slow Food movement, a grassroots community of people dedicated to championing Good, Clean, and Fair Food for All. Using that broader mission, the group creates inclusive projects and gatherings that reflect the diversity of the East Bay, celebrating good food and uplifting the people involved in all parts of the food web and helping consumers engage more deeply.

Among the many events the group hosts each year is the Annual Community Gathering. It’s a potluck dinner with a chance to meet the leadership team and hear about their last year of work and thoughts for the year ahead. There will be opportunities for everyone to share thoughts on what’s interesting and concerning in our food system so the organization can decide who to champion, partner with, and otherwise engage in Slow Food projects and campaigns. Plus you can learn about volunteering and other ways to support this important work.

Slow Food East Bay Annual Community Gathering
Friday, April 11, 4:30 to 7:30pm
Hammerling Wines in West Berkeley

Bring a potluck dish to share (fill this form to indicate what you’ll bring). Dishes can be homemade or purchased from a local producer. Bring something sweet or savory, highlighting the seasons and our incredible regional food system. But since it’s a work night for most, it doesn’t have to be fancy.

The $5 reservation fee will be donated to a local organization that will be chosen at the event. Pay at the ticketing link or bring cash to the event to minimize administrative fees. You can also Venmo @slowfoodeastbay or Paypal to slowfoodeastbay@gmail.com.  If choosing to Paypal  or Venmo instead, please specify “Annual Gathering.” If the fee is a barrier to your participation, just select the free option or say when you arrive. Walk-ins are welcome, too!

Hammerling Wines will be available to taste and enjoy during the potluck.
