Solstice Party, Pie Contest, Urban Farm Tour: June 21 in Berkeley

Manny Garcia (center) won the 2024 Pie Contest with his zucchini pie (right). On the left are other 2024 contest standouts like apple with guava, lemon with elderflowers, lemon tart, rhubarb, and cherry. Your pie can be made with backyard fruit or any produce from your summer garden.
Do you have a great pie that you like to make from an item you grow or produce at home like fruit, veggies, herbs, flowers, or honey? If so, you’ll want to enter it into the Summer Pie Contest at Urban Farm Oasis’s Summer Solstice Party on Saturday, June 21. The party starts at 10am in the Oasis parking lot at 1441 Ashby Ave, Berkeley, where you can pick up a map for the self-guided Urban Farm Tour. The party continues at the Oasis until 3pm with food, face painting, demos, honey tasting, and all kinds of other farmy fun. Find details on the pie contest here. The event is free, but registration is appreciated.
