A program of short films featuring Susan Rockefeller’s Food for Thought, Food for Life  and a selection of tasty cinematic bites.
Free Admission – no tickets required

 

Babette’s Feast   —1:15pm — Roxie Theatre
Oscar-winning gastronomic classic based on an Isak Dinesen story.
Introduced by Gayle Pirie and John Clark of the Foreign Cinema restaurant.

*Preceded by tastings of Vanilla Bean Organic Ice Cream from Straus Family Creamery and handcrafted meringues from The Grand Meringue

 

In Defense of Food— 4:00pm- Roxie Theatre SF Premiere
Entertaining exploration of the themes from Michael Pollan’s best-selling book. “Eat Food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”
Director Michael Schwarz (The Botany of Desire) in conversation with Dean Schillinger, MD from the UCSF Hospital and Diabetes Center.

*There will be vegetarian goodies from La Mediterranee of Noe Valley before the screening.

A 12-course meal merging art and cuisine like you’ve never seen from the world’s best restaurant.
