Prince of Prints
Delight in the work of Berkeley artist David Lance Goines, creator of memorable posters for Chez Panisse, Acme Bread, Mr. Espresso, and numerous other local businesses. Goines attended UC Berkeley and founded Berkeley’s Saint Hieronymus Press in 1968, where he still designs his work and prints it by letterpress and photo-offset lithography. Along with the exhibit, the Garden’s celebration of his work includes a reception and unveiling of the poster Goines designed for the Garden’s 125th anniversary. The reception is free, but registration is required. Visitors can also attend a gallery talk in which Goines reflects on his process, inspiration, and life. Cost: $15; $10 for members. Unsigned posters are available for sale in the Garden Shop or by emailing gardenshop@berkeley.edu Info: here
