Building a robust Northern California grain economy is the ultimate goal as farmers, bakers, scientists, policy experts, and educators gather at the 2016 Community Grains Conference. Geologist and author David Montgomery starts us off as keynote speaker, and conference topics include seed supply, the meaning of “good farming,” soil health, and the nutritional value of whole grain. Day 1 features a welcome reception, discussion, cocktails, and dinner at St. George Spirits. Day 2 panels and talks take place at Oliveto, and both days highlight food and drink made from local, organic grains. Cost: Day 1 – $60; Day 2 – $85; Days 1 & 2 – $100. Info: here
