Masks for Farm Workers

A group of volunteers in North Berkeley has been collecting masks for farm workers south of Half Moon Bay. They’ve already delivered 100 masks to the organization ALAS: Ayudando Latinos A Soñar, a Latino cultural arts and social services program supporting youth and families, but more masks and cash donations for the group’s own mask-making efforts are needed. Contact Anne at aaannnbbb99(at)gmail.com if you have masks to give (dark ones preferred). She tells us she’ll bring them to ALAS on Saturday if she gets enough. To follow her efforts, sign on to Nextdoor.com and ask to be invited to the group ???FARMWORKERS???. If you’re inspired, spread the word in your own neighborhood, where you’ll likely find people already sewing masks who might like to donate a few. Or, support ALAS Mamas Making Masks During COVID-19 with a financial contribution: bit.ly/alasmasks.
