Oakland Celebrates the Year of the Ox
The ox symbolizes hard work, positivity, and honesty, and all are attributes needed for the year ahead.
All are invited as the Oakland Asian Cultural Center (OACC) presents a week-long, virtual, family friendly Lunar New Year celebration with new year’s traditions from China, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, and more. You can enjoy performances, demos, interactive workshops, and children’s story time, as well as a virtual Community Night Market to support local businesses and community organizations. Free.
Close out the festival on Friday, February 19 by making wontons with Chef Tu David Phu and pairing them with a scrumptious cocktail from Alkali Rye. Proceeds from this event support OACC. Cost: $10–75 (see options on website link).
